John Torkelson


John is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #2533) with over a decade of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity and purpose. He holds a Master of Divinity from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has been practicing since 2014.

John’s approach is thoughtful, clinically grounded, and client-centered, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each person’s needs. While he works with a wide variety of clients, he specializes in couples therapy, adolescent and parenting support, and trauma-informed care. His work integrates a deep understanding of relationship dynamics with practical tools that foster lasting change.

Throughout his career, John has worked across diverse clinical settings, gaining experience in areas such as chemical dependency, serious and persistent mental illness, and domestic violence. This breadth of experience allows him to meet clients with both compassion and insight, no matter the complexity of their situation.

John is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where both adults and adolescents feel comfortable expressing themselves.
